All prices are rough estimates and may shift based on complexity, deadlines, or special requests. Final quotes are confirmed via email or form.

Terms of Service (TOS)

General

• Commissions are for personal use only unless we agree otherwise in writing.
• I may decline any commission request before payment without needing to explain why.
• You may repost the finished artwork anywhere as long as you credit me as firecatinblack.
• You may use the finished artwork as icons, banners, character references, profile decoration, personal prints, or other non-commercial personal use.

Payment & process

• Payment is usually upfront or split 50/50 depending on the size of the commission.
• WIPs will be shown during the process for approval.
• Small changes are usually free during the sketch/WIP stage.
• Large changes, repeated changes, or changes after approval may cost extra.

Refunds & delays

• If I have not started the commission yet, you can receive a full refund.
• If the commission is already in progress, refunds are based on how much work has already been completed.
• Example: if you ordered a shaded fullbody and I have finished the sketch, the refund would be the full price minus the value of the sketch work.
• If I am taking longer than agreed, you may choose either a partial/full refund depending on progress, or a discount while keeping the commission active.
• For “pay what you want” commissions, you are eligible for a full refund unless the artwork has already been finished.

Commercial use

• You may not use my art commercially unless I give permission.
• Commercial use includes selling prints, merch, stickers, physical products, digital products, branding, advertising, monetized assets, or using the artwork to promote a business/project.
• Commercial rights may require an extra fee depending on the use.
• You may not trace, copy, steal, heavily reference, edit, or claim my art as your own.

AI, NFT, blockchain & scraping use

• My art may not be used for AI training, AI datasets, machine learning, generative AI tools, style imitation, or AI image/video generation.
• You may not upload my art to AI tools for editing, expansion, style transfer, “finishing,” reference extraction, or dataset use.
• My art may not be minted, tokenized, sold, or used in NFTs, cryptocurrency projects, blockchain projects, or similar technologies.
• Automated scraping, dataset collection, or archival for AI/commercial use is not allowed.

Artist rights

• I keep the rights to the artwork I create.
• I may post finished commissions on my socials, use them in my portfolio, and use them to promote my commissions.
• I will not sell merchandise or make direct commercial profit from your commissioned artwork unless you ask me to or give permission.

Character design rights

• You may trade, resell, or regift character designs made by me unless stated otherwise.
• If payment is money, it should be completed within two days unless we agree otherwise.
• If payment is art, it should be completed within one month. Extensions up to another month may be given if you provide a WIP.
• If an art payment is not finished in time but has fair visible progress, we may co-own the character. You may still trade, resell, or regift your side, but I should be notified about ownership changes.
• For custom designs, my normal commission TOS also applies.

Blacklist

• Breaking these terms, stealing my art, refusing agreed payment, chargeback abuse, or using my work for AI/NFT/commercial use without permission may result in a blacklist.
